Join this five-week adventure writing course where you’ll work on creating your very own 500-word adventure story for the Author of Tomorrow competition, hosted by The Wilbur & Niso Smith Foundation. This competition invites young writers to submit their stories, with the chance to win a variety of prizes.

Throughout the course, we’ll explore what makes adventure stories exciting, focusing on the following key elements:

  • the protagonist
  • the call to adventure
  • the setting
  • the challenges the hero faces.

Each session will help you develop a different part of your story, and you’ll have time to share your ideas and ask questions.

At the end of each session, you’ll be encouraged to think about and work on a specific element of your story before the following week. By the end of the course, you’ll have a completed story ready for submission to the competition.
