Why join one of our book clubs?
Inky Storyteller book clubs inspire a love of reading in young people. By reading the book progressively over several weeks, participants can explore each section in depth during our sessions. Creative craft activities and games deepen their engagement with the story, helping them develop understanding and enjoyment. Relaxed, bookish chat builds confidence while supporting comprehension skills and empathy. Through a variety of creative activities, children are encouraged to think about character, theme, and plot, making reading an interactive and enriching experience.
How do book clubs work?
- Each book club runs for 4 weeks.
- There’s a new book club every half term.
- There are three different age groups: 6-8, 9-11, 12-14.
- Children attend a one-hour session each week at the same time.
- Children receive their copy of the book in the first session.
- Each week, I set a reading target for the following session, but this is relaxed – it’s not a problem if the children don’t get there!
